This summer, Ealing Broadway has partnered with leading West London rugby club, Ealing Trailfinders, to offer free family sessions led by the pros themselves.

Taking place outside Tesco Express every Friday until 21st August, the sessions will run between 12pm and 2.45pm and form part of Sportropolis, Ealing Broadway’s summer activity programme which aims to provide families with fun and affordable ways to learn new skills, get active and spend time together.

Children of all ages and abilities can take part in the sessions, which are led by professional players from the Ealing Trailfinders men’s and women’s teams.

The professional line-up from Ealing Trailfinders includes Flo Long, Matt Cornish, and Max Nagy, who will help children build confidence, learn new techniques and develop their skills.

Families will also have the chance to meet Bella the Bear, the club’s much-loved mascot, and enjoy photo opportunities throughout the day.

Flo Long, professional rugby player for Ealing Trailfinders, said: “It’s so important that we encourage children to get involved in sports and make sure they have accessible routes into activities like rugby. That’s why I’m so pleased to be involved in this initiative, helping to bring the local community together and making sure kids stay active over the summer holidays.”

Andrew Rollings, centre director at Ealing Broadway, added: “There’s so much to enjoy at Ealing Broadway this summer, including our rugby sessions in partnership with Ealing Trailfinders. We’re passionate about our role as a welcoming hub for the community and are proud to offer families affordable ways to stay active and enjoy the holidays together.”

Other free activities at Ealing Broadway over the summer holidays include the Saturday Sports Club, which involves everything from football freestyle demonstrations and tennis-inspired games to martial arts taster sessions and rhythm and movement sessions.

Visitors can also enjoy a football challenge – Sub Soccer Tables – and the Sportropolis Beach, a community space featuring a giant sandpit, sandcastle-building equipment, and a branded deckchair for family photos.
