This Halloween, Castle Square in Zone 1’s Elephant and Castle, will be hosting a FREE Halloween Spooktacular event for the whole family to enjoy!

On Saturday 29th October from 11am- 4pm guests can expect a day full of Halloween themed workshops, sweets, treats, music and more! Join us at Castle Square, where it will be transformed with scary decorations from cobwebs to carved pumpkins with all your favourite spooky tunes to go with it.

Guest’s can also expect to be entertained by performers from Upside Down Dance Academy re-enacting a live performance of Thriller, as well as bag themselves some delicious trick-or-treats! Throughout the day guests can also get involved in Halloween-inspired workshops that will appeal to all ages.

Visitors can also indulge in a special Halloween-inspired cocktail by the Mexican Day of the Dead festival called the ‘Spooktacular’ from the Cherry Tiger terrace bar on the second floor of Castle Square, by saying the word ‘Spooktacular’. And throughout October in celebration of Sober October, the bar will also be serving special mocktails which include the AF Margarita, AF Enzoni and AF Eastside and will be just £5.50. For those wanting a bite to eat or to shop, there will be a special 10% discount off the traders at Castle Square and Ash Avenue throughout the whole day on the 29th October.

If you can’t make it to the Halloween Spooktacular event, don’t worry as there is an array of FREE activities for the community to enjoy throughout the month. The neighbouring Elephant and Castle Community Hub are launching a new free-of-charge Latin Dance Aerobics class, running every Tuesday from the 11th October. And to celebrate Black History Month, the Community Creative Hub is running a two-hour mixed media class on Wednesday 19 October inspired by Yinka Llori’s art. If you’ve got little ones to keep busy, Frogprince Baby Music, a music group for toddlers, host their weekly sessions at Castle Square’s neighbour Mercato Metropolitano.

The Community Hub offers a range of activities from arts & crafts, fitness classes, yoga, education and more. For those who can’t get there in person, you can also join online via live streams.
