Former planning chief elected to head up City’s HR committee

A new chairman has been elected to the City of London Corporation committee responsible for the organisation’s personnel matters.

Alastair Moss will lead the Corporate Services Committee which oversees the Square Mile governing body’s equity, diversity and inclusion; human resources, and legal functions.

Mr Moss, a lawyer by trade, previously served as Chair of the City Corporation’s Planning and Transportation Committee.

Florence Keelson-Anfu, a newly elected Member with a background in human resources strategy, has been elected as deputy chair.

Chairman of the City of London Corporation’s Corporate Services Committee, Alastair Moss, said:

“It’s an honour and a privilege to be elected to chair the committee responsible for looking after our people, who are our most important resource.

“We will strive to ensure the City Corporation continues to attract the best talent, with staff that work hard for residents and businesses as the Square Mile continues its post-pandemic recovery.”

Originally from Sussex, Mr Moss now lives in Soho and works as co-head of real estate at City law firm Memery Crystal, having previously worked for Hogan Lovells.

He served 12 years as a member of Westminster City Council and has represented Cheap ward on the City Corporation since 2013.
