A UK based charity is launching a poignant new art installation in London’s Spitalfields Market this October, featuring two giant mosaics composed of hundreds of photos of moments made possible in people’s lives by advances in cancer cures and treatments. The exhibition is free to visit and will be open to the public from Monday 10th October to Monday 24th October.
Worldwide Cancer Research is a UK charity on a mission to end the suffering caused by cancer. The charity funds the brightest scientists in the world with game changing new ideas for treatments and for cures.
As part of a new campaign, Worldwide Cancer Research have created two mosaic style art pieces which celebrate and educate around the people who make this work possible – their scientists and fundraisers – collectively known as Curestarters.
The mosaics are each composed of hundreds of images of people whose lives have been touched in some way by cancer – from incredible life moments only made possible by cancer treatments, to fundraising and research, as well as those no longer with us who’ve inspired the next generation of supporters.
Photos for the mosaics have been submitted by hundreds of people across the UK. Whether the image shows someone who’s facing cancer, a loving family member who’s fundraising for the charity, or a pioneering scientist who is developing groundbreaking treatments around the world, each image shows a glimpse into an inspiring real life story and shines a light on Worldwide Cancer Research’s network of Curestarters.
