Uber Eats and Honest Burger have joined forces to encourage Brits to tell some ‘Tasty Truths’ at a unique new pop-up booth.

Following research that revealed the average Brit fibs nearly five times a day, The Tasty Truths booth will be visiting Liverpool (27th October) and London (28th October) to encourage a sprinkling of truth this Autumn.

Open over lunch time from 11:30 – 14:30, by coming to fess up on their fibs, visitors to the booth will be rewarded with a free Honest Burger, as well as a code to get money off their next Honest Burger order, which is now exclusively on the Uber Eats app.

The Tasty Truths booth comes after new data reveals the top 10 things Brits fib about:

1. I forgot

2. I’ll do it tomorrow

3. I am listening

4. I’m busy then

5. Nice to see you

6. I haven’t got any change

7. I’ve got no money

8. I got stuck in traffic

9. I don’t know what happened there

10. Not disclosing the actual price of an item you purchased

By visiting the booth to write down their latest fib, members of the public will receive a token which will allow them to redeem either a PLANT or a Smashed Burger from Honest Burgers, who will be serving nearby.

The research also showed that confessing might be the best way to relieve the guilt of lying, as 2 in 5 (43%) of us say we don’t think we’re a convincing liar. The person we lie most commonly to is our partner, with 46% of us admitting we’ve told them a fib. This was closely followed by colleagues (44%) and bosses (36%).

The Burger Confessional will tour Liverpool on Thursday 27th and will be in London on Friday 28th, two regions which were identified as having a high number of fibbers. Nearly half of Londoners (46%) admit to telling between 6 – 16 lies per day, with the same applying to those in Liverpool (47%).

London locals appear to be a forgetful bunch, with “I forgot” being the most commonly told lie (31%). In Liverpool, “I’m listening” is also a common fib, with 16% admitting they’ve told that particular lie.

Matthew Price, UK General Manager at Uber Eats says “We’re excited to be teaming up with Honest Burgers for this fun campaign, and that our partnership allows burger fans to continue to enjoy Honest Burgers from home, exclusively available via the Uber Eats app”.

Tom Barton, Co-founder of Honest Burgers says that, “We are thrilled to have partnered with Uber Eats to bring our delicious burgers to the nation – and we promise that’s the truth! We can’t wait to hear the white lies our customers have been telling, and to reward them for their honesty in the best way possible! For those who want to remain Honest from home, they can now order from our menu exclusively available on the Uber Eats app.”
