Highlighting a growing need across the capital as people prepare for rising bills this winter, FoodCycle will reach 21 London-based free weekly community meals next month as it launches two new Projects in Stepney Green and Camden.

The new city locations meal from the charity that strives to make food poverty, loneliness and food waste a thing of the past, will launch FoodCycle Stepney Green on 30th October and FoodCycle Camden on 21st November.

Both new Projects are in urgent need of volunteers to help run the weekly free meals. Local volunteers will get to experience the ‘FoodCycle magic’ – transforming surplus food into delicious vegetarian dishes alongside a friendly chat to anyone in the community who fancies coming along every week. To sign up to help nourish their local community every Monday at 1pm at FoodCycle Stepney Green and every Tuesday at 5pm at FoodCycle Camden simply visit the FoodCycle website.

FoodCycle London Area Manager Alix Guerber says:”It’s truly amazing to be able to offer Londoners a free community meal at 21 Projects across the capital. It means Monday to Saturday in locations across London, we can provide a safe, welcoming space for anyone who comes along no questions asked. Guests will be able to share tasty food made with ingredients saved from ending up in the bin and enjoy warm conversation around a nicely laid table. Our vital service runs on the kindness of volunteers, so we’re asking local residents willing to give up a few hours each week to get in touch with us.”
