With King Charles’ and Queen Camilla’s Coronation approaching, the UK’s leading vet charity, PDSA, has revealed which of the Royal Family are most popular with pet owners when naming their four-legged friends.

The Royal Family are known to love their canine companions, with the late Queen Elizabeth II having over thirty Corgi’s throughout her life. Her children and grandchildren have followed suit with beloved dogs of their own.

Buckingham Palace may have welcomed the furry paws of Corgi’s over the years, but it is now home to two rescue dogs: Bluebell and Beth, Charles and Camilla’s Jack Russell Terriers.

In a round-up of the nation’s favourite royal pet names, second in line for the throne George comes out on top. Prince George shares his name with nearly 8,000 pet patients across PDSA’s 48 Pet Hospitals, in fact four of the King’s five grandchildren appear on this list with over 15,000 dogs, cats and small furry pets their namesake.
