Future Youth Zone take on London Landmarks Half Marathon

0

Last Sunday 1st August Future Youth Zone for the first time took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon. London Landmarks Half Marathon is a closed road, central London race letting runners explore the Grand, the Quirky and the Hidden parts of our amazing city. This year Future has raised over £6000 with 9 participants from all over the country. To thank our participants, we have given them the title of #FutureHero as their efforts will make them heroes for young people and their fundraising allows Future to continue to offer a safe and fun place for members to spend their leisure time.

Quote from runner Chris Lane:
Running the London Landmarks Half Marathon for Future Youth Zone was fantastic! Having never run or even enjoyed running, the half marathon gave me an opportunity to find a new passion. Future is a great place providing fantastic opportunities. Thank you!

Do you want to become a #FutureHero? Well, you’ve got a chance on the 4th of September 2021! Future will be hosting an abseil off the Future Youth Zone building. This will be a chance to take on an incredible unique challenge; become a hero for young people and receive your very own #FutureHero top and cape!

Quote from Mark Fowler, Strategic Director of Barking and Dagenham Council:

The council, and our senior team, are huge supporters of Future and the enormous difference it is making for so many of our young people. We are very much looking to taking part in “Abseil for Future” and raising as much money as we can to support such a wonderful organisation. Please do come and join us!
