Greggs kicks off Pumpkin Spice Latte season with a sizzling August launch

Greggs has kicked off Pumpkin Spice Latte season earlier than ever this year, launching its delicious autumnal blend on Thursday 25th August.

Selling 1.8 million coffees per week and an astounding 178 cups per minute, Greggs is the third biggest food-on-the go coffee retailer in the UK ahead of Starbucks*. The national launch on 25th August will be the earliest the Pumpkin Spiced Latte has ever been launched in the UK.

The Pumpkin Spice Latte costs from £2.20 and is made with a blend of freshly ground coffee, pumpkin spice flavour syrup and steamed milk – all topped with sweet, tasty cream and a sprinkle of spiced sugar.

The beverage is made using Fairtrade Arabica and Robusta coffee beans from Peru, Colombia, and Tanzania, slow-roasted to create an extra-flavoursome brew.

The launch comes despite temperatures as high as 28°C in some areas of the UK as the nation continues to bask in the tail end of the August heatwave. However, some are already counting down the days to “spooky season” and are eager to grab their first Pumpkin Spice Latte of the year.

@Samtasticqueen was one of many who expressed they were “over” the UK heatwave and Autumn couldn’t come soon enough.

Whilst both @beccamtz14_ and @selenamontoyaa5 both expressed their excitement at the thought of Pumpkin Spice Lattes being just around the corner.

To give customers the opportunity to beat the crowds and guarantee their first taste of Pumpkin Spice Latte this year, customers can order via Click + Collect either through the website or the Greggs App. New users to the Greggs App will get a free Pumpkin Spice Latte (or any regular hot drink) on registration which they can redeem in-shop.

A Greggs spokesperson said: “Although we’re still enjoying the last of the summer heat, we know how much our customers enjoy a Pumpkin Spice Latte, no matter what the temperature! We hope the early return of this favourite will be a delight to Greggs fans nationwide.”
