Guinness World Records London has launched a nationwide search to find the UK’s most competitive family, to test the record-breaking challenges at its first permanent entertainment venue opening at The O2 in London, this winter.
Hot off the heels of the Guinness World Records 2027 edition launch last week, which saw the latest record holders celebrated from largest collection of My Little Pony memorabilia to Hugo the tallest horse. London’s hotly anticipated new entertainment venue – Guinness World Records London has announced it’s on the hunt for families who love a bit of healthy competition, always want to win and love a challenge.
Competitive families can be in with a chance of being crowned the UK’s most competitive family and will be the first to get a sneak peek look inside the Capital’s hottest new venue where they’ll be the first family to put the challenge stations to the ultimate test and maybe even walk away as Guinness World Records title holders.
To take part, families must head online to www.guinnessworldrecords.com/venues/uk-most-competitive-family and describe their most embarrassing competitive family moment in 100 words or less.

We know how competitive families can get, so we want to find out who is the most competitive of them all and get them along to our new attraction to see if they have what it takes to become our first record breakers!’
Set across 25,000 square feet, Guinness World Records London will combine competitive socialising with the thrill of record-breaking, giving guests the chance to potentially walk away a record-holder. Work is underway transforming the venue into a record-breaking backdrop where guests will get the chance to attempt 45 official Record Challenges across five arenas.
Today, the venue gave its first sneak peek since its 2025 announcement, with behind the scenes images from its production workshop offering an ‘in the making’ look at four of the Record Challenges guests will be able attempt: the Loudest Scream, Fastest Typist, Fastest Basketball and Fastest Buzzwire.
Back in 2025, to officially announce the new venue coming to The O2, three Guinness World Records titles were achieved at roof walk attraction Up at The O2. In a world first, Josh Patterson broke the record for the fastest time to climb and descend The O2 with an incredible 4 min 40.79 sec. The feat involving The O2’s iconic roof had never been attempted before in the venue’s history, and the minimum to beat was 10 minutes, which Josh obliterated.
