Residents of the borough are being invited to share their views on local street cleaning services as part of the council’s ‘Spick & Span Sutton’ campaign. The online survey covers a wide range of issues including street litter, dog fouling, enforcement, litter bins, fly tipping and gully cleaning.
The survey is live on the Council’s consultation website – bit.ly/SuttonCleanStreets – for eight weeks, from 24 May until 18 July 2021.
The survey will be discussed at the six Local Committee meetings taking place between May and July. A social media campaign will also raise awareness of the survey and encourage local people to get involved.
Councillor Manuel Abellan, Chair of the Environment and Sustainable Transport Committee at Sutton Council, said: “We know that satisfaction with street cleanliness has improved in recent years; feedback from our resident survey tells us that. But standards are still not as high as we would like them to be.
“To put that right we have some ambitious plans to improve street cleaning services in the borough. But we need your help. Budgets are tight and we can’t afford to do everything we would like. By completing this survey you can help us identify the issues that are most important to residents and we can use that to inform our plans for the service.”
