With October half-term just around the corner, IKEA Wembley is coming to the rescue for busy parents, seeking fun and affordable things to do with the kids.

Announcing a host of free space-themed activities – sure to create a fun atmosphere – the events celebrate the launch of the new AFTONSPARV space range[1]. The events will take place in stores across the country until Sunday 5th November 2023, encouraging children to channel their inner astronaut, ignite their infinite imaginations and kick-start their sense of adventure when it comes to the mystical world of outer space.

The AFTONSPARV collection consists of 21 products, featuring astronaut and alien soft-toys, finger puppets and a planet shaped cushion – all of which are made from 100% recycled polyester[1]. As well as a cardboard rocket play tent, lamps, bed textiles and a glow-in-the-dark curtain – to recreate an out of this world experience within the home.

Budding young space explorers can partake in the ‘Alien Invasion Trail’, where they’ll be given a special mission to track down the aliens hiding in store. Elsewhere, those wanting to put their creative writing skills to the test can try the ‘How on Earth’ writing competition. Visitors – young and old – are invited to write a story about the infinite possibilities of space, which will then be judged by a panel of IKEA judges². The lucky winner will receive a prize hamper filled with goodies from the AFTONSPARV collection3.
