The Digital Physical Education Lessons (DPEL) project was created more than a year ago when tens of thousands of Ukrainian schoolchildren were sent home due to the COVID-19 pandemic for home-based learning. In a first for Ukraine, the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation therefore put together a new project made up of exciting physical education lessons to help support children’s’ physical education while they were stuck at home. All in all, the Foundation’s new project grew to an audience of over five million people throughout the country. And in July, the DPEL project won two nominations in one of the most prestigious industry awards — the IPRA Golden World Awards — and is now on the shortlist of another prestigious award according to the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation website. “The Foundation is proud that these impressive results have been recognized by the professional community,” said Volodymyr Kapustin, a representative of the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation.

The Foundation has been nominated for a Corporate Engagement Award. Handed out by ‘Communicate’ magazine to the most talented communication initiatives and companies working hard to make the world a better place, previous winners include Vodafone, Adidas, Pfizer, Google, Deutsche Bank, and more.

All episodes of the DPEL project have been posted online by the Rinat Akhmetov Foundation. These are available on both Facebook and YouTube, and the Ukrainian national online digital platform for the development of digital literacy, diia.gov.ua.
