Brixton Village, London’s most diverse market, is delighted to announce its new late night shopping series, First Thursdays – celebrating Brixton born retailers and restaurants from all corners of the Village.
The series will nurture the existing creativity that the Village retail community has to offer, by supporting what entrepreneurs do best and driving vistorrs to explore much loved South London retail and food. Visitors will be able to enjoy a plethora of food and drink, from fish and chicken wings, to kraft beer and cocktails.
The late night shopping series will welcome Black Culture Market as a guest partner – a successful operator that positively echoes the values and ethos of Brixton Village in supporting and nurturing talent through everything they do. The Black Culture Market will welcome emerging entrepreneurs and black-owned businesses of African and Caribbean descent with items on sale ranging from gifts, cards, art, jewellery, skincare, clothes and original accessories.
To celebrate the very first First Thursdays on the 4th May, shoppers can also head to Market Row and Discove‘The Sustainable Fashion Market’ to shop for a mixture of second-hand, vintage, small batch and handmade fashion, through a Verte swishing event at £11 a ticket.
To get involved, simply drop off your second hand or unused items on the night , claim your tokens in return and once the stalls are open – it’s on. Swap clothes, accessories and shopping the sustainable way.

First Thursdays at Brixton Village will launch on Thursday 4th May and will run throughout 2023, every first Thursday of each month from 6pm to 10.30pm.
