Lidl GB has confirmed that it is currently in the process of modernising its existing supermarket on Sterling Way in Edmonton which will see an overall enhancement of the customer experience.

As part of the works, the store will undergo a refurbishment to enhance the much-loved store. In addition, two rapid electric vehicle charging points will be installed in the car park.

To enable the modernisation, the store will be closed from 8pm on Wednesday 28th September for two weeks, with a view to reopening from 8am on Thursday 13th October. Customers can continue to have access to Lidl’s great value quality produce at its nearby store on Plevna Road, Edmonton Green.

Lidl GB’s Regional Head of Property, Colin Rimmer, commented: “Our Edmonton store first opened over 24 years ago and we’re pleased to be carrying out works on the store, so that we can enhance the shopping experience for our existing and future customers. We would like to thank everyone for their patience and understanding whilst the store is temporarily closed, and we look forward to reopening shortly.”

The refurbishment forms part of the company’s ongoing £1.3bn investment across the country in 2021 and 2022. Its ongoing success shows no signs of slowing, with Lidl GB now the 6th largest supermarket in the UK.
