Residents and staff at Hatfield Peverel Bupa Care Home in Chelmsford recently marked Silver Sunday – the national day that celebrates the older generation, coming together and connecting with the community around them to help boost wellbeing.
The celebrations, organised by the Activities team at Hatfield Peverel, included a tea party complete with coffee, hot chocolate, sweets, and plenty of cake.
To create as much of a memorable celebration as possible, the team at the Bupa care home also played the resident’s all-time favourite songs for them to sing-along to. The Silver Sunday activities were a particular hit for Teresa Reed, a resident at Hatfield Peverel. Teresa, aged 64, commented: “What a fantastic afternoon! The activities made me so happy, and it was lovely to spend time chatting with my fellow residents.”
Carol Walker, Home Manager at Hatfield Peverel Bupa Care Home, added: “All of the team and residents had a brilliant time coming together for our afternoon of fun. Here at Hatfield Peverel, we know how important it is for older people to continue to enjoy new activities and to connect with one other. We look forward to continuing to host activities that put a big smile on our residents’ faces!”
