Students from Stagecoach Performing Arts Sidcup will be taking part in the first-ever Musical Con, and are also among seven Kent and London schools that will take to the stage for a spectacular showcase at the stunning Orchard Theatre in Dartford – with both events taking place this Sunday, 23rd October 2022.

Musical Con will be held at the ExCel London and welcomes the UK’s entire theatre community for a weekend celebration of all things musical. Stagecoach Sidcup’s Senior Troupe will be gracing the stage for a stellar performance of ‘Baby One More Time’ from the popular musical, & Juliet.

In the action-packed weekend, the South London students have also been working hard and rehearsing for their performance at the Orchard, with Sidcup’s Junior Troupe performing alongside Stagecoach schools from Orpington, Bearsted, Erith, Medway, Greenwich and Blackheath, and Dartford.

Stagecoach Sidcup Principal Lisa Maddocks said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to represent Stagecoach at this prestigious brand-new event at the Excel London. Our Senior Troupe are a dedicated, committed, and talented group of young people who live for being on stage. They have pulled the piece together in just 3 weeks and we are bursting with pride for them.”

Lisa also added: “Our Junior Troupe are so excited to be performing at The Orchard Theatre in Dartford on Sunday! They have been rehearsing for only 6 weeks which is incredible. For some of these students, it’s their first Regional Event and the buzz in the studio is electric. It’s such a wonderful opportunity for the students to work on a professional stage and experience a day in the life of a performer. We’re so very proud of them!”

Stagecoach Performing Arts are sponsors of Musical Con alongside The Society of London Theatre and Official London Theatre and will be in attendance at the convention at stand B42.
