LONDON DUNGEON REVEALS 10 RUDEST STREET NAMES IN LONDON AND CENSORS THEM

0

The London Dungeon’s Jester took to the streets of the capital last week, covering up the city’s naughtiest road names after the attraction’s latest advertising campaign was censored.

Known for its no-holds-barred portrayal of London’s darkest history, elements of the London Dungeon’s latest advertising campaign were censored after being considered too rude and gory to show on London’s Underground system.

But London is full of road signs, street names and areas just as naughty – from Laycock Street, Clitterhouse Road and Balls Pond Road to Bellenden Road.

And so the London Dungeon’s Jester took to the streets to clean up some of the rude road names, censoring the naughty parts.

After his work, Laycock Street became Lay Street, Clitterhouse Road morphed into Terhouse Road, Balls Pond Road became simply Pond Road and Bellenden Road stood primly as En Road.

The London Dungeon’s top 10 rude street names in the capital are:

Laycock Street, Islington

Bellenden Road, East Dulwich

Balls Pond Road, Dalston

Clitterhouse Road, Barnet

Spankers Hill Wood, Richmond

Swallow Street, Piccadilly Circus

Cumming Street, Pentonville

Helmet Row, Shoreditch

Penistone Road, Streatham

White Knobs Way, Caterham

A London Dungeon spokesperson said: “We’re all about showing the dark underbelly of London’s rich history – and our advertising reflects this. When we found out elements were deemed too much for London’s Underground system, we pounded the pavement to clean up its naughtiest place names to prove that the city itself is just as rude (if not more so) than we are. After all, if you can’t beat them, join them!”

Head along to the London Dungeon to experience the naughty and funny history of London and judge for yourself. With 16 shows and thrilling rides, the London Dungeon promises to bring the city’s dark history to life delivering ample scream-drenched stories and fear-inducing shocks for a summer holiday experience that guests will never forget.
