The lastminute.com London Eye will welcome in 2022 with an exclusive ‘Review of 2021’ light display to be streamed online on New Year’s Eve.

The dazzling, celebratory and reflective pre-recorded social show – available to watch on the London Eye’s social channels from 4pm on 31st December 2021 – will recognise 15 key moments that moved us in 2021. The two minute light display will move through the year in chronological order, reflecting the light and shade of an eventful year.

Each moment will be represented by captivating colours and changing light patterns – from major sporting occasions including the Olympics, the Euro 2020 final, and Emma Raducanu’s victory at the US Open; to stories of joy such as the birth of four royal babies, Pride month, and Marcus Rashford’s much-deserved MBE. The special light-up also captures moments of national importance, from thanking the NHS workers for their continued hard work during the pandemic, to marking the environmental crisis and COP26, and paying tribute to His Royal Highness Prince Phillip.

Sunny Jouhal, General Manager at the lastminute.com London Eye, said: “To celebrate this New Year’s Eve we wanted to create a visual moment of reflection and celebration to bring the UK together as we enter 2022. The unique virtual light show is our dazzling tribute to the nation, and a way of recognising and remembering the moments in 2021 that made an impact on our lives as we enter into a new year.”

The lastminute.com London Eye’s New Year’s Eve virtual light show will be streamed on the iconic attraction’s social channels at 4pm on 31st December, for the nation to watch from wherever they are:
