A retired computer enthusiast from near Uxbridge is celebrating after winning £1,000,000 in the Lotto Guaranteed Millionaire Raffle from The National Lottery draw on Saturday 4 July 2026.
The special draw meant that a unique Millionaire Raffle code was added to every Lotto ticket and 10 lucky ticket holders who had a matching code won £1M.
The winner, who is in his 70s and buys his tickets in-store, has a rather unusual approach to playing: he only walks in and buys a Lotto ticket if there isn’t a queue. On this occasion, the coast was clear and it turned out to be a decision worth £1M.
He and his family now plan to buy a bungalow, with the stairs at home beginning to be a bit of a problem, before taking some time to consider their options.
Speaking about the win, the winner said:
“I feel so much more secure about the financial future for my family and extended family. It’s taken a little while for it to sink in that I’ve actually won. I now know it’s not a wind-up or a scam, like I first thought! It’s a wonderful feeling knowing we can look ahead with real peace of mind.”
