Flights between Vilnius and London City (LCY) will continue to be operated as part of PSO formula (Public Service Obligation) which allows public entities to co-fund flights of special interest within the EU. LOT won the tender which The Government of Lithuania had opened in summer 2018. Flights between Vilnius and London-City were launched on May 1st 2019 for the first time. The route turned out to be very successful and popular among passengers travelling both from the UK and Lithuania.
Staring August 31st flights will be reintroduced and operated according to the following schedule:
LO271 VNO-LCY 06:30-07:30 Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat
LO272 LCY-VNO 08:00-12:45 Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sat
LO273 VNO-LCY 17:10-18:10 Mon, Tue, Wed, Thu, Fri, Sun

“We are pleased to reintroduce flights between Vilnius and London (LCY). After very difficult times of lockdown and suspension of international air travels caused by the global pandemic, we observe an increased passenger demand for international travels. Therefore, by the end of this summer we would like to invite onboard passengers who regularly travel between Lithuania and Great Britain. The reintroduced flights are expected to attract a lot of interest and contribute to a strengthening of relations between Lithuania and Great Britain – said Krzysztof Moczulski, LOT’s spokesperson.
“We are delighted to welcome back LOT and the Vilnius route. For the significant Lithuanian community in East London, this will provide an opportunity to travel home from their local airport. And for Londoners, Vilnius and Lithuania represent great options for a late summer getaway.” – said Richard Hill, Chief Commercial Officer of London-City Airport.
London City (LCY) is an optimal airport for passengers willing to get to the centre of Great Britain’s capital city quickly and conveniently, avoiding commuting issues and traffic jams. The airport is located in Royal Docks, and so it is the closest to the nearest business centre of London: just under 10 km from City and Canary Wharf.
Because of short runway and steep landing glide angle in London City (LCY), there is only a few aircraft, including Embraer 190, certified to fly from this airport. LOT Polish Airlines E-190 offers 106 convenient seats in three classes of travel.
Starting effectively from July, LOT re-opened selected international flights providing passengers with over 30 holiday destinations around Europe, as well as selected long-haul services. From now on the Poland’s flag carrier subsequently resumes its regular services, among others, between Warsaw and London-Heathrow, Prague, Geneva, Belgrade or Tallinn.
To provide passengers with the possibility to plan their travel more flexible, LOT has also introduced new Flex Plus fares encompassing among others free-of-charge change of departure date (up to 48 hours before departure) as well as the option to return tickets within 24 hours of its purchase.
Tickets for LOT’s Vilnius-London-City service are already available for sale via all LOT’s sales channels, including lot.com website and travel agents.
