McDonald’s is bringing a POP-UP CINEMA screening to London as it celebrates the launch of the ‘As Featured In’ campaign

Following a week of cryptic clues across social media, McDonald’s has unveiled a global campaign celebrating its status as a beloved cultural icon that continues to inspire the world of entertainment.

The 60 second film, which includes snippets from classic films & TV like Richie Rich and Coming to America, showcases the many times that McDonald’s has been famously featured in entertainment over the last few decades – with fans going wild to guess some of the throw-back references.

As part of the celebrations, McDonald’s UK and Ireland is kicking off a series of exclusive partnerships this week, including a pop-up cinema screening of 90s classic Clueless, but fans will have to be quick if they want in on the action!

The exclusive event, held at Fulham’s Neverland on Wednesday 16th August, will give fans the chance to enjoy McNuggets, Fries and cocktails before settling down for a viewing of the iconic rom-com. The party doesn’t stop there either – with a DJ, games and photo-booth fun for guests to enjoy until 11pm.

There are just 50 spaces available on the door on a first-come-first-serve basis, with doors opening from 7pm. So, if you want a chance to channel your inner Cher Horowitz – you’ll need to be fast!

For those not lucky enough to bag a space at the event, fear not – McDonald’s is bringing movie magic to homes all across the UK with a bumper giveaway of film passes via streaming platform CHILI. Four million codes will be issued to McDonald’s fans via the McDonald’s App to redeem on CHILI – one of Europe’s leading media and entertainment streaming services.

From August 16th to September 5th, MyMcDonald’s Reward customers can claim a code to rent a movie in any format within CHILI’s digital catalogue in the UK.

Fans in the UK and Ireland will also be able to relive the magic of their favourite characters and artists with a newly branded Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce – inspired by Marvel Studios’ “Loki” Season 2 (streaming October 6 on Disney+) and a 6 Piece Chicken McNuggets® ‘As Featured In’ packaging which will be available from 16th August and includes a code for more exclusive content and access to an exciting new merchandise partnership with UK-based skatewear brand, PALACE Skateboards.

To celebrate the special role of the Sweet ‘N Sour Sauce, fans are being offered the chance for a sneak peek via a themed AR experience on Snapchat. Fans can scan the newly branded Sweet N’ Sour Sauce lid on Snapchat, where they will unlock custom content developed by Marvel Studios exclusively for McDonald’s fans, with new content available weekly throughout the promotion.
