Met Police continue to appeal for information after Shoreditch assault

Officers investigating a vicious and unprovoked attack on a young man on a night out in east London are releasing footage of the incident.

At around 01.45hrs on Sunday, 8 October, the 26-year-old victim was outside the Be @ One Bar in Old Street, Shoreditch, when a man – who was stood beside him – suddenly and unexpectedly punched him in the face.

The blow knocked the victim to the floor, and the man proceeded to kick him in the face before leaving the scene – heading east along Old Street.

Partygoers and door staff came to the victim’s aid and the London Ambulance Service and police were called to the scene.

The victim was taken to Royal London Hospital where he was treated for serious facial injuries.

The suspect is described as black, of medium build with short dark hair; and wearing a dark blue shirt and black bomber jacket. He was seen inside the bar with a group of men and women shortly before the assault.
