MIYAKO BRINGS SUSHI TO LEAF & CANE THIS SUMMER

Japanese restaurant Miyako has landed at Leaf & Cane this summer, introducing a special menu curated for a relaxed experience in the heart of the City of London.

This collaboration is the first in a programme of seasonal pop-ups and brings together Japanese food, premium beers, sporting events and free karaoke under one roof, creating an easy post-work destination for City professionals and the perfect place for friends and colleagues to socialise.

The menu will be on offer until the end of September and has been curated by Chef Kosei Sakamoto from Miyako, the Japanese restaurant located in Andaz London Liverpool Street. The menu will feature sushi, sashimi and teriyaki dishes as well as expertly selected sake in an intimate and contemporary setting.

Featuring eleven dishes, the menu has been created with match days in mind, proving how live sport and sushi can be a perfect pairing and offering a lighter alternative to traditional bar food. Guests can enjoy freshly prepared nigiri and maki rolls, gyoza, and small plates like vegetable or prawn tempura, paired with an ice-cold drink or a shareable beer tower as they catch every moment of the action – whether it’s football, tennis, cricket or F1.

Recent global research1 including UK consumers reveals that nearly one third of sports viewers watch games at a bar or restaurant, with Gen Z particularly likely to watch sports outside the home. While another study2 highlights that 77% of Gen Z are more attracted to adventurous, global cuisine.

After the final whistle, the afterparty kicks off until the early hours with beer towers, cocktails and free karaoke powered by Lucky Voice.

With licence to screen3 all major sports matches, the venue will also accommodate some of the late international football games taking place over the next few weeks, extending opening hours to 2am.

Mohammad Labban, General Manager Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars, says: “We’re very excited to host a food pop-up in collaboration with Miyako. The menu has been designed to be paired with beer and sport viewing and is perfect for groups looking to socialise in a relaxed environment.

“This summer, we’re keen to prove that live sport, free karaoke and sushi can be a winning combination. We look forward to seeing our guests come together for exciting games, sushi, premium beer and even sing some of their favourite tunes before the night is over.”

Miriam Varoli, General Manager Andaz London Liverpool Street, says: “At Andaz London, we are passionate about creating experiences that connect people through culture, creativity and exceptional food. Miyako has long been an important part of our culinary offering, and we’re excited to see the restaurant step beyond our walls through this partnership with Leaf & Cane.

“The pop-up is a fantastic opportunity to introduce more guests to Miyako’s distinctive approach to Japanese dining, while celebrating the energy and social atmosphere that make London’s hospitality scene so special.”

The Miyako pop-up menu is now available at Leaf & Cane, located at Hyatt Regency London Blackfriars, until the end of September.
