Arsenal today release a new short documentary, A Champion’s Story: Ben and Iris, following Iris, a lifelong blind supporter, as she travels home and away with her carer, Ben, during the club’s historic 2025/26 Premier League-winning campaign.
The film explores what supporting Arsenal means to Iris and the sense of connection and belonging she has found through the club. At its heart is the friendship Iris and Ben have formed through their shared love of Arsenal, offering a different perspective on the moments, people and experiences that make the club special.
Ahead of its release, the documentary was previewed exclusively to disabled supporters at an Arsenal Disabled Supporters’ Association event at Emirates Stadium on Friday 14 August – bringing together almost 400 disabled supporters to celebrate the Premier League title and look ahead to the new season.
The event reflected Arsenal’s commitment to listening to and collaborating purposefully with supporters, ensuring they remain at the heart of the decisions, experiences and stories that define the club.
By working alongside its diverse communities, the club aims to create opportunities for connection, strengthen trust and ensure disabled supporters see themselves reflected in Arsenal’s journey. The connection between Arsenal and its supporters provides one of the strongest foundations for success, and the event offered an opportunity to share Iris and Ben’s story first with the community it represents.
Chair of Arsenal Disabled Association and Arsenal Advisory Board representative, Daniel Bailey, said: “The strong sense of belonging that every member of the disabled supporter community feels to our club is rooted in the actions Arsenal takes. As ADSA representative on the Arsenal Advisory Board, which represents our supporters and meets regularly with our owners and Chief Executive, I know these actions stem from the values which run throughout the club from leadership to players to supporters.
Coming together at our home to celebrate a new era at the club – as Premier League champions – and elevating Iris’ supporter journey was a powerful way to express this, and we are excited to do even more to champion our disabled community together.”
Through Iris and Ben’s story, the documentary reflects Arsenal’s ambition to use the power of football and storytelling to bring people together, strengthen belonging and create connections that extend far beyond the game.
