New Family Hub launched to support children and young people

A brand-new Family Hub has launched at Brookhill Children’s Centre as part of a £4.1m investment in supporting children and young people.

Brookhill Children’s Centre is fourth Hub we’ve established this year, wrapping up all the support on offer for families.

Bringing council services together with partners such as Home-Start Greenwich and Better, our Family Hubs put everything parents, carers, and kids need under one roof.

Cllr Matt Morrow, Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, said: “There is a huge range of support on offer for families, from free activities and early learning for children right through to financial advice and wellbeing support for mums, dads and carers.

“Family Hubs are making life easy by putting it all in one place – providing the support families need, in the ways they need it.

“The Hubs are growing rapidly and I know that many families are already feeling the benefit.”

Brookhill Family Hub, run by Home-Start Greenwich, includes a new Hub Café which offers affordable food and advice on eating healthy.

Family Hubs are staffed by friendly professionals who can help with everything from pregnancy right through to teenagers.

Storkway, Quaggy, and Waterways Childrens Centres launched their Family Hubs earlier this year.

Funding for Family Hubs comes from the Department for Education (DfE) and Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC).
