The North East London NHS Foundation Trust has published a cookbook to celebrate the 75th birthday of the health service.

Memories, traditions, and family legacies from members of staff and the community all feature in the recipe book that launched on the 5th of July at a food festival held at the Trust.

Celebrity contributors include nutrition coach Fraser Reynolds, who donated his cheesy fajita orzo and salmon fishcakes recipes; cookbook author Clare Andrews with a sausage and red pepper bake; and Great British Bake-Off participant Alice Fevronia, with a recipe for a summery strawberry sheet cheesecake.

Acting NELFT CEO, Jacqui Van Rossum, said: “For the 75th birthday of the NHS we wanted to highlight the range of diversity and experience of all our NELFT colleagues and the communities we serve.

“What better way to celebrate than with the food we bring from our personal histories and ethnic backgrounds?

“A huge thanks to all the staff who made this happen, and to everyone who attended the festival.”
