Old Ford Primary Academy, Paradigm Trust, Tower Hamlets, has been successful in retaining its status as a Centre of Excellence in financial education, as part of apartnership between Young Money (formerly pfeg) and Experian.
Since its original accreditation in 2014, staff at Old Ford Primary Academy have spent the past three years working with an education specialist from Young Money to continue helping them meet a set of five criteria to create and deliver a detailed programme of financial education throughout their school.
The programme, funded by Experian, has been successfully completed and Old Ford Primary Academy, Paradigm Trust, Tower Hamlets, remains committed to providing high quality financial education, as shown by their reaccreditation status as a Centre of Excellence in financial education.
The Centre of Excellence programme has a proven track record in helping young people understand more about money and personal finance.
The school is one of 16 schools who have achieved the reaccreditation after their three-year status expires and is part of a network of over 150 other schools, colleges and centres who are either engaged with the programme or have already been awarded or reaccredited with the Centre of Excellence status. Experian has funded 27 centres out of this total number.
Michael Mercieca, Young Money Chief Executive, said:
“Old Ford Primary Academy, Paradigm Trust, have worked extremely hard to achieve their reaccreditation as a Centre of Excellence, and we are pleased that their children are seeing the benefit of a whole school approach towards teaching financial education. We are delighted that Experian has supported the school in this achievement, which will be of enormous benefit to children and have a real impact on their future.
“Our aim is to ensure that all children and young people enter adult life with the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to manage money well – and the partnership with Experian is helping to make this goal a reality.”
As a reaccredited Centre of Excellence, Old Ford Primary Academy will be continuing to share their expertise with other schools in the local area to benefit the wider educational community.
