OpenTable, a global leader in restaurant tech, has been announced as a headline partner for Transport for London’s Off-peak Friday fares trial. Let’s Do Fridays – the three-month trial of Off-peak travel on Fridays – aims to encourage Londoners back onto TfL’s services and into the city on Fridays. OpenTable will be a destination for Londoners to discover special menus and deals across a range of restaurants in the city during the trial, with deals available every Friday.

Over 35 restaurants are participating that span the entirety of London, including neighbourhood gems and beloved restaurant groups.

Highlights of these deals include:
VAT Free Fridays at Gaucho: Diners who visit any of the twelve London venues on a Friday during March will automatically enjoy a ‘VAT Free lunch’ when dining from the A La Carte menu between 12-4pm.
Off-peak Fridays at Bill’s: Diners can enjoy a two-course meal from their set menu, with a free drink, for only £17.50 at Bill’s eleven London locations.

Robin Chiang, SVP of Growth at OpenTable, said: “Friday dining is not the same as it used to be pre-pandemic, when the city was packed with commuters – and restaurants are feeling it. This program is a great way to bring locals back into the city for a meal and to support restaurants, which play such an important role in our city and culture.”
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, said: “I’m thrilled to have OpenTable on board as the latest headline partner for our ground-breaking trial of Off-peak Fridays.

“It’s clear that many people are still not coming into the office on Fridays compared to before the pandemic, which is having a major knock-on effect on our shops, restaurants, pubs and cultural venues. These weekly offers from OpenTable, combined with Off-Peak Fridays, will help to encourage Londoners back into the city on Fridays to make the most of London’s world-leading restaurants, as we continue building a better, more prosperous London for everyone.”
