Britain’s leading independent fashion and design brand, Paul Smith, will open a new London shop on 28 May 2021 at Borough Yards. The shop and exhibition space will be the first retail offering of the new shopping and dining district adjacent to London’s bustling Borough Market.

The 2,000 sq ft space will stock Paul Smith clothing, shoes and accessories collections for men and women, plus a selection of the newly launched PS Paul Smith Happy products, which communicate a cheery message of positivity. As every Paul Smith shop, Paul Smith Borough Yards will also include unique furniture and artworks sourced from around the world.

Paul Smith shops are proud to be rooted in their local communities. To continue this tradition, Paul Smith Borough Yards takes inspiration from the stalls and stallholders of the market itself. In the same way that the market is a bustling and ever-changing mix of styles, the shop fit will be flexible, with antique French and English 19th century furniture in mahogany and oak alongside functional metal racking and shipping palettes. This eclectic approach will be mirrored in the use of bold colour and stripe throughout the shop.

To mark the shop’s grand opening, a special exhibition of new works and limited edition screenprints by the young British artist, Harry Cartwright, will be hosted. Cartwright has been a regular collaborator with Paul Smith, having previously exhibited work in the Albemarle Street, Berlin and Downtown LA shops.

Borough Yards is a large-scale cultural, dining and shopping district, based in and around a series of restored and reconceived railway arches, the majority of which is scheduled to open in 2022, marking an exciting new chapter for Southwark and the wider Borough Market area.
