Pride in London is pleased to announce the return of its Unity Fund, offering grant funding exceeding £150,000 to support London-based grassroots LGBT+ organisations. The Unity Fund serves as a steadfast platform to reinforce and uplift LGBT+ communities by providing funding to grassroots organisations in London, directly contributing to the betterment of the lives of LGBT+ people.

Pride in London maintains its commitment to representing and supporting LGBT+ communities in the city. The inception of the Unity Fund in 2020 marked a significant milestone, underscoring the pivotal role that grassroots organisations play in the advancement of LGBT+ rights and the provision of essential services to those in need.

As Pride in London endeavours to champion innovative initiatives, it eagerly encourages the submission of proposals from all organisations dedicated to enhancing the well-being of the LGBT+ community. To ensure that the voices of the most marginalised are amplified and that they truly benefit from this funding, Pride in London places a pronounced emphasis on endorsing projects led by individuals of colour within the LGBT+ community, initiatives that involve trans and non-binary individuals, LGBT+ women, as well as endeavours that provide assistance to LGBT+ communities during times of crises or major incidents.

Interested applicants are required to meet the following criteria:
– Function as grassroots LGBT+ organisations that advocate for and cater to the needs of LGBT+ individuals in London.
– Operate with an annual budget not surpassing £100,000.
– Possess the legal status of a Charity, Community Interest Company (CIC), or Charitable Incorporated Organization (CIO). Applicants without these designations may still be eligible for consideration, provided they can demonstrate six months of continuous activism and secure a fiscal sponsor.
– Develop a comprehensive plan detailing the effective allocation of funding, unequivocally directed toward the advancement of LGBT+ programs.

Christopher Joell-Deshields, CEO of Pride in London, stated: “The Unity Fund embodies our dedication to nurturing initiatives and projects that are effecting positive change within our LGBT+ communities from the grassroots level. This Fund is in alignment with our core principles of visibility, unity, and equality.”

Applications for The Unity Fund grants will be open from Monday, 21st August 2023. LGBT+ Organisations interested in applying for the fund can find more information and guidelines on the Pride in London website.
