Richard Riakporhe has been a name on the lips of hardcore boxing community in the UK for some time now. His performance at the O2 gave a glimpse of the rising notoriety this cruiserweight is gaining.
The opening fight on the undercard of Whyte vs Brown, Riakporhe and Adam Williams not only kicked off an exciting night of boxing but delivered for many also one of the most entertaining fights of the night.
Richard boxing style fuses a renaissance elegance of some of the most exciting boxing eras of a time gone past with contemporary yet an element dangerous unpredictability to this vicious sport.
Riakporhe & Williams both in shape and prepared had a well-paced dynamic exchange.
An early fright by Adam Williams when he dropped Richard Riakporhe in the first bout had the Londoner came back with a vengeance in the second round.
The third round saw Riakporhe take out Williams moving on to 6-0.
The talented boxer enjoys the backing of Anthony Joshua and Dillian Whyte.
“To be the best you have to learn from the best. For me, that is not just training but also gaining knowledge. Be that from Anthony Joshua or Chris Eubanks Snr who administered some wise words or Klitchko. Sport is more than just physic, training and nutrition. So while I sparred with Dillian Whyte, Anthony Joshua, Chris Eubank Jr and Mateusz Masternak. Boxing is my passion but also my livelihood. It is a sport that requires mental and emotional resilience, so I am constantly looking to improve myself all around.”
