Summer may be drawing to a close, but the season isn’t over just yet. With warm weather still encouraging Londoners to make the most of being outdoors, Rooftop Cinema Club is inviting audiences to head up to the rooftops over the next few weeks for some special events. From celebrating Dolly Parton with a special screening of Steel Magnolias, to a nostalgic Confessions of a Shopaholic screening in partnership with London Girls Book Club, there’s plenty to enjoy while the weather stays warm.

Ode to Dolly
In honor of Dolly Parton, Rooftop Cinema Club are screening Steel Magnolias (5 September, Stratford; 12 September, Peckham) in a night to come together, celebrate, remember, and live by what Truvy Jones said best: “Laughter through tears is my favourite emotion”. Tickets start from £14 and are available on the website. In Dolly’s spirit of giving, 10% of all ticket sales will benefit The Dollywood Foundation in support of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library.

Book Club
September’s pick of choice for Rooftop Book Club is none other than the Lindsay Lohan-led classic, Confessions of a Shopaholic (13 September, Stratford). Join founder of London Girls Book Club, Caitlin Curry for a discussion of the book by Sophie Kinsella, followed by a screening of the film adaptation, making for a wholesome, nostalgic evening with a view. Book club tickets are priced at £30 and include access to the discussion and film screening as well as pint of beer/cider, small wine/prosecco, selected mocktail or soft drink.
