Children at Chelsea Prep School, Cameron Vale, celebrated the Queen’s Jubilee in style with a delicious lunchtime picnic and a fun-filled afternoon of village green games.
Cameron Vale, situated just off the Kings Road in Chelsea, welcomed parents and students to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee, just before the half-term holidays, with an array of traditional outdoor games. Cameron Vale’s PTA ‘Friends of Cameron Vale’ organised the celebrations creating an afternoon of fun for the whole school.
Bridget Saul, Headteacher at Cameron Vale, said: “Our Jubilee picnic was a great opportunity for the whole school and nursery to come together, welcoming parents to celebrate this momentous occasion. We were thrilled that we could offer the children such an interactive celebration. I think the best part was seeing the children’s creative crowns – each child from the school designed their own unique crown in the morning, which were all displayed at our afternoon celebration. The whole event allowed our children to express their artistic ability and to gain memories that will last a lifetime.”
The children enjoyed a Jubilee picnic which was followed by an exciting selection of traditional games including hoops and boules.
Competitions ran throughout the course of the event providing a showcase of the school’s talent to the parents in attendance.
The event allowed the children to focus on unity and teamwork as they participated in the afternoon’s activities.
Bridget Saul added: “Our Jubilee event offered families the chance to unite and children to socialise. As social interactions have been so limited in the last few years, giving parents the chance to engage within our school and see first-hand the opportunities on offer felt so special, particularly as we were marking such an historic national occasion together.”
Though the picnic was a great success, the celebrations were not over for the nursery children of Cameron Vale as the students enjoyed a Jubilee Party on Wednesday the 1st of June. The Chelsea Nursery, which is open 50 weeks a year, is a co-educational nursery for children between the ages of 2 and 4 years of age.
The lunchtime party was filled with delicious food, arts and crafts, and regal portraits – a very special celebration for the children.
