Make your mark in the fight against heart and circulatory disease at London to Brighton Bike Ride 2020. Join 16,000 cyclists on 21st June to help the British Heart Foundation (BHF) fund lifesaving research to beat heartbreak forever.

Hailed as Europe’s oldest charity cycling ride the iconic BHF London to Brighton Bike Ride is now in its 45th year. Since the start of this famous ride, in 1976, an estimated 850,000 cyclists have pedalled over 41 million miles. That’s the equivalent of cycling to the moon and back 85 times!

Last year’s London to Brighton Bike Ride raised an incredible £2 million! The money raised by our amazing riders will help fund the BHF’s vital research and help us to better understand how to prevent, diagnose and treat heart and circulatory disease, which is the cause of more than a quarter (27%) of all deaths in the UK. Each year, around 13,200 people in London die from heart and circulatory diseases, including heart attack, stroke and vascular dementia.

The ride is a fantastic chance to cycle through scenic Surrey and Sussex countryside, including 19.5 miles of traffic free roads. So whether you’re hoping to be the next Chris Froome or looking to do something a bit different and join the 179 couples who completed the ride on a tandem last year, the ride is suitable for all abilities and ages (last year the oldest cyclist to take on the ride was and incredible 86 years old!).

The BHF’s flagship cycling event finishes on Brighton’s famous beachfront and is a great chance for families, friends and colleagues to enjoy a fun-filled day out. Riders will be met by cheering crowds and can soak up the amazing atmosphere whilst, having a well-earned rest, at the renowned Beach Village.

This year we’re excited to announce Cycle Republic as the official bike mechanic partner for the BHF’s London to Brighton Bike Ride. Providing bike maintenance for our pedaltastic riders at the start in Clapham Junction as well as further stations at Turners Hill and Ditching Beacon. Cycle Republic is one of the UK’s leading cycling retailers with 22 stores nationwide and online at cyclerepublic.com. Boasting a range of top brands, they stock a wide variety of bikes from electric to road and everything in between, alongside a range of parts, accessories and clothing.

James Foster, Event Marketing at Cycle Republic said: “We’re delighted to be announced as the official mechanical partner for the BHF’s London to Brighton Bike Ride. This iconic event is always a highlight in the UK cycling calendar and a great reason to put your legs to the test whilst raising money for the BHF’s vital research.”

Emma Day, Event Organiser at the BHF, said: “We’re excited to have Cycle Republic as our official mechanic partners for this year’s London to Brighton Bike Ride. We hope their expert team can power our riders across the finish line.

“Every mile pedalled will help fund more groundbreaking breakthroughs for conditions like diabetes, stroke, vascular dementia and coronary heart disease which affect around 620,000 people in London.

“So, gather your friends, family or colleagues and get in the saddle to help beat heartbreak forever by signing up to ride for the BHF in 2020 and fund life saving research.”
