The most wonderful time of the year is here and as we fish out the Christmas decorations, SEA LIFE London Aquarium is celebrating early by gifting some of its most popular residents’ delicious treats to bring home the festive cheer.

It was Christmas dinner time for the green sea turtles, who had their first ever taste of festive side dish, brussel sprouts, as they tucked into giant stalks of the leafy vegetable under the watchful eye of the team of festively dressed expert aquarists. Meanwhile, over in the Coral Kingdom section of the attraction, some of the Aquarium’s smallest residents donned equally tiny Santa and elf hats with the help of a specially trained diver.

Further fun was had by the cheeky octopus, who enjoyed two new toys in the shape of Christmas crackers ahead of the big day. The octopus, who recently joined the attraction, is often given exciting new toys to play with to keep her stimulated and loves to solve puzzles and play with a wide variety of items.

But that’s not all! Everyone’s favourite SEA LIFE residents also reveled in the yuletide cheer over in Penguin Point, where recent additions, Raducanu and Gilbert, along with the rest of the Gentoo penguin colony, couldn’t get enough of their fishy treats. Mother and Father Christmas, also known as SEA LIFE London’s aquarists, were on hand to give out a frozen Christmas cake made of ice and decorated with sprat in the shape of a Christmas tree.

SEA LIFE London Aquarium, situated on the South Bank, is open seven days a week. For the latest opening times (including over the festive period), feeding times, prices and more, see http://www.visitsealife.com/london/
