From Friday 2nd June, Shelter will be making a splash in South London with the launch of an eight-week pop-up in the vibrant heart of Brixton Village. The pop-up will be open to shoppers for eight weeks, with all proceeds going towards tackling housing injustices across the UK.

With its carefully curated collection of high-quality, sustainable fashion, books and music, the Shelter Boutique aims to redefine the concept of charity shopping and offer a purposeful shopping experience in Brixton.

By shopping at the Shelter Boutique, proceeds can help to provide expert advice, face-to-face support and legal guidance to people facing housing issues or homelessness. Visitors will have the opportunity to buy pre-owned fashion bargains, with the knowledge that every purchase will go towards Shelter’s housing crisis relief efforts.

Fashion enthusiasts or those looking to support Shelter’s mission can visit the pop-up from today, located at Unit 38, next door to Lost in Brixton, another beloved Brixton Village staple. It’s one not to miss.

Diana Nabagereka, General Manager at Brixton Village, commented on this: “We are delighted to welcome Shelter to Brixton Village as part of our collective effort to help those in need. It is an incredible privilege to join forces with such an important charity. We invite our customers to visit the boutique to experience it first-hand and pick up some fabulous finds.”

Shelter is the latest charity to become part of the Brixton Village community, following in the footsteps of Re:Sole, an organisation which provides repurposed shoes to the homeless and vulnerable young people. Every purchase made will help Shelter continue to provide vital support and services to those experiencing homelessness and housing issues.

Daniel Theophanides, South London Area Manager of Shelter, commented: “We are thrilled to be welcomed into the vibrant space of Brixton Village for the next eight weeks. This pop-up is an opportunity for Shelter to connect with the local Brixton community, raise vital funds for our cause, and create a lasting impact in the lives of those affected by homelessness.”

Daniel continued: “By shopping at the Shelter Boutique pop-up, customers can not only shop for sustainable retail and hidden gems, but they can help us to help as many people as possible to find or keep hold of a safe home, and campaign for lasting change.”

The Shelter Boutique pop-up will officially open its doors Unit 38, Brixton Village to the public on Friday 2nd June, and will operate Thursday to Saturday 10.30am – 6pm and Sunday 10am – 5pm.

Whether visitors are shopping enthusiasts, supporters of Shelter’s cause, or simply curious about sustainable fashion, the Boutique promises a unique shopping experience – with purpose.
