Sir John Soane’s Museum appoints Letizia Treves and Zoé Whitley as Trustees

Sir John Soane’s Museum is delighted to announce that Letizia Treves, Global Head of Research & Expertise in Old Masters at Christie’s, and Zoé Whitley, Director of Chisenhale Gallery, will join the Board of Trustees in July. At this time, Nichola Johnson, OBE, FSA, and Basil Postan will step down from the Museum’s Board, having completed their respective terms as Trustees.

Lord Sassoon, Chair of the Sir John Soane’s Museum Board, said “In 2024, the Soane Museum is celebrating the 200th anniversary of Sir John Soane’s picture gallery, home to much loved treasures such as Hogarth’s A Rake’s Progress. So, we are particularly delighted to welcome two great curators, Letizia and Zoé, to the Soane Museum Board when we are focused both on the interpretation of John Soane’s wonderful collection in its historic context but also as an inspiration for creativity today.”

Sir John Soane’s Museum is committed to learning and enquiry, and the connections between past and present, which are revealed by the Museum’s astonishing collection. The Soane’s current exhibition, Fanciful Figures, is open until 9th June. On 10th July, the Soane will open Mythic Time / Tens of Thousands of Rememberings by Lina Iris Viktor, the artist’s first solo UK museum exhibition.
