Six by Nico Fitzrovia is back with a brand new look. The brand’s original London restaurant has reopened following a major refurbishment, introducing a new walk-in bar, larger terrace and more open-plan layout.
The first six-week tasting menu guests will be able to enjoy in the new restaurant is American Murder Mystery, which will transport diners to small-town America, where a decades-old murder case has been opened. The menu will be running on select dates until 15 November, coinciding with the much-anticipated return of Celebrity Traitors and spooky season.
After first opening in 2020, Six by Nico Fitzrovia’s new look and feel has seen the previous industrial aesthetic swapped for a warmer, more inviting feel, with neutrals, deep reds and darker accents brought together with new furniture, upholstery, artwork and lighting.
The open kitchen remains at the heart of the restaurant, giving diners a front-row seat as the team prepares each course on the tasting menus. A new walk-in bar overlooking Charlotte Street opens directly onto the expanded terrace, offering drinks and cocktails to even more guests, without the need for a dinner reservation.
Running from select dates between 5 October and 15 November, American Murder Mystery invites guests to play detective, to uncover what happened to Maggie Sawyer.
With every detail designed to take guests deeper into the story, diners will be given the opportunity to follow clues, decode messages and piece together the evidence around the table, across six courses.
The experience offers a different take on Halloween, combining cocktails, six courses and an interactive murder to solve. It follows previous popular Six by Nico experiences including Murder on the Midnight Express and Sherlock Holmes.
The six-course menu puts a Six by Nico spin on American comfort food, with highlights including Crispy Fried Chicken & Waffle with buckwheat waffle, smoked bacon caramel and roast chicken crème; Cuban Sandwich with chorizo and smoked ham hough, mojo rojo, battered cornichon and mustard caviar; and New England Clam Chowder with roasted ling, crab bisque, barbecue corn, rouille and potato terrine.
Dessert is Maple Apple Cobbler, featuring baked apple delice, oat and rye whiskey ice cream, maple and candied pecans. Vegetarian alternatives are available throughout.
Nico Simeone, Founder of Six by Nico, said: “We can’t wait to welcome visitors back to Six by Nico Fitzrovia, our flagship London restaurant! The refurbishment brings some of that newer, warmer feel to the original London site, while keeping the open kitchen, changing menus, and theatrical side of Six by Nico at its centre. The introduction of the walk-in bar creates a completely new way to experience Six by Nico in London. Guests no longer necessarily need to be joining us for the full six-course experience to visit. The bar can be used for a drink before dinner, cocktails with friends or as a stop during a night out in Fitzrovia, with no reservation required. Our position overlooking Charlotte Street also creates a much stronger connection between the restaurant and the neighbourhood outside, too.”
The restaurant also benefits from its outdoor terrace and seating on Charlotte Street, giving guests another way to use the space for drinks or dining outdoors. Together with the new walk-in bar and open frontage, the terrace creates a much stronger connection between the restaurant and Charlotte Street, making Fitzrovia feel more open, accessible and part of the neighbourhood around it.
The refurbishment reflects how Six by Nico has evolved since Fitzrovia first opened, with the group growing from five restaurants in 2020 to 15 six years later, including a second London restaurant at Canary Wharf.
