St Dunstan in the East

Epping Forest

Epping Forest is a beautiful area stretching over 6,000 acres, from Manor Park in East London to the north of Epping in Essex. If you want to escape the city for the day, then Epping Forest is one of the best places in London to head to with your nearest and dearest.

The picturesque forest and areas of grassland and wetland offer a wonderful range of walking trails for individuals and families. Epping Forest is a Special Area of Conservation and is home to a variety of plants and species.

Keep your eyes peeled for the forest’s resident tawny owls or bats, or head on an adventure to discover the 1600 species of weird and wonderful fungi the forest has.

Mile End Park

Escape the urban sprawl and get a taste of countryside life in one of London’s most peaceful locations, Mile End Park. Stretched over 32 hectares, the park follows the Regent’s Canal from Victoria Park to Limehouse Basin.

See London’s wildlife right at home in this spacious, picturesque park. The greenery and forest areas throughout the park are home to a rich array of wildlife, from birds to butterflies and even bees.

Bring the whole family along to discover the 400 species of beetles, including the rare Streaked Bombardier, and the 170 spider species.

Postman’s Park

Find peace in the City of London at the secluded Postman’s Park, just north of St. Paul’s Cathedral. The quaint spot is packed with history. Within the park you can find the memorial to Heroic Self-Sacrifice. The 54 ceramic plaques pay tribute to the deeds of bravery by ordinary people who died, saving the lives of others.

Grab a coffee from the local cafe and take in the history and tranquillity of Postman’s park.

Battersea Park

If you are looking for a leisurely walk with lots of places to sit and take in London’s epic views, then Battersea Park is the ideal place to visit. The park is a great place to kick back and relax with friends and family, so don’t forget to bring a picnic along.

Located around three kilometres south of Hyde Park, Battersea Park is a breath of fresh air from the chaotic streets of central London. Boosting 200 acres of green space, the park has a lot to offer for the whole family.
