Fast-paced running action on a unique, closed, inner-city circuit is coming to London 20-22 June, with the introduction of the Solstice 3k.
Featuring a weekend of open, mixed participation races and events for the whole running community, coupled with elite-level competition for fans of the sport, the inaugural Solstice 3k promises to be a concentrated celebration of running like no other.
Centred on the iconic retail and entertainment location of the capital’s King’s Cross estate, a purpose-built closed 800m circuit features a steep ramped climb out of the auditorium-like former railway and gasworks of Coal Drops Yard – which will be well-staffed by resident DJ’s pumping out the high tempo beats, and cheering fans creating a wall of noise.
A sprint along Stable Street before a dog-leg corner past Granary Square takes runners back down towards the start/finish line. Racing on the 800M track of the Solstice 3k circuit is expected to be full-throttle from the starting gun!
New England-born performance running gear brand Tracksmith will be bringing its signature community vibes, presenting the elite racing on Friday night as event partner, whilst also hosting the Tracksmith Solstice 5km & 10km community runs, starting and finishing at the VIA Atelier store on Stable Street.
Visitors, race entrants and community event participants will also be able to browse the latest offerings from exhibiting brands throughout the weekend, in the Solstice 3k event village.
The Solstice 3k is a new part of the annual VIA Criterium and The London Cycle Festival, organised by cycling concept store VIA Atelier, taking place in and around the King’s Cross – Coal Drops Yard area from 20-22 June 2025.
A launch event for the Solstice 3k, the VIA Criterium and The London Cycle Festival will take place on Thursday 17th April from 7PM at VIA Atelier. Entries for the Solstice 3k races will open on Friday 18 April on Open Track
