South London welcomes it’s first official Oktoberfest

On Saturday September 28th and October 19th Brixton will host its largest Oktoberfest to date. Named Oktoberfest South London, the festivities will run from 2pm – 9pm and welcome 2,800 tickets holders over the two separate events.

Electric Brixton for the first will be transformed in to an all singing, all dancing bavarian beer hall complete with long wooden tables and bunting, fit for a decadent bohemian party. No other than London’s own Herman ze German will provide its iconic sausage bringing home the authentic south german taste serving up some of the best wurst they have to offer.

Alongside excessive beers and endless delicious sausage, attendees to Oktoberfest South London can expect live music from London Brass All Stars keeping the classic oompah favourites rolling throughout the day. DJs from Sexy Kitchen Party will keep the soiree running late into the night.

Between sets punters can expect up and coming comedians keeping the giggles rolling throughout. Tickets start at £10.

As any Oktoberfest veteran knows, it wouldn’t be complete without waitresses and waiters dressed in Dirndl and Lederhosen keeping all steins filled to the brim throughout the days of indulgence. The highly regarded beers flying over from Germany are supplied by Spaten, Löwenbräu & Becks all served in the renowned glass stein to all.

There is no other wurst is London like Herman’s, shipped straight from the Black Forest in Southern Germany they supply it in many delicious forms including the impeccable Currywurst and Brotzel (pretzel alternatives). Herman’s Bratwurst is a thing of meaty beauty. A mixture of pork and veal, everything is available with bread or paprika-spiced fries.
