Specsavers Hounslow celebrate as Joanna Pluskota passes her professional qualification to become a Dispensing Optician and is promoted to Retail Manager.
As an organisation Specsavers encourage their staff to further their qualifications and progress their careers within the group. The Hounslow store located in the High Street is doing just that, with a fantastic track record of training and development that includes apprenticeships, pre-registration optometrists, customer service, audiology, lab technicians and many more!
To date forty three members of the team have been trained and progressed via the in-store mentoring scheme, which has helped them to pass their professional qualification examinations, resulting in the creation of a team of committed professionals across the optical and audiology sides of the business.
Joanna who is Polish came to the UK in 2013, and is no exception having started working at Specsavers Hounslow in 2015 as a receptionist. Joanna has worked her way up, gaining experience in customer support, as a dispensing optician and in store management where she progressed from Assistant Manager to recently promoted Retail Manager. Within this role, Joanna is also responsible for the contact lens department and the store inventory.
Ranna Rai, Specsavers Hounslow Optometrist Director said; `Joanna has progressed her way up the career ladder and has now been deservedly promoted from Assistant Manager to Retail Manager. Joanna has always worked with a positive attitude, is dedicated and a great asset to the team and the business.’
Mr Rai continued; ‘Specsavers Hounslow has supported the training of twenty nine Optometrists, one Contact Lens Optician and thirteen Dispensing Opticians. Our store team is incredibly proud of this achievement and the career opportunities this affords those individuals. We all wish Joanna much success in her new role at the store.’
Joanna said; ‘I am thrilled to have qualified as a Dispensing Optician and really appreciate the support I have received during my training. I am now looking forward to my new role as Retail Manager and to making a difference across the business. I could not imagine a better place for development!’
