Following its incredible sell-out success across the UK, St Martin’s forms the backdrop to Space, a magical cosmic sound and light experience created by Luxmuralis that celebrates our relationship with planet Earth and beyond and humanity’s ambition to venture into the unknown.

Next February, St Martin-in-the-Fields will host a celebration of light like no other with Space – a spectacular five-day immersive and colourful light and sound experience running from Tuesday 17th February – Saturday 21st February 2026.

St Martin-In-The-Fields’ beautiful exterior will be illuminated with sound and light, taking visitors on an incredible journey, redefining the experiential immersive art world by combining art, sound, history and centuries-old architecture to create an extraordinary multi-sensory experience that lasts around 30-60 minutes, followed by a luminous 15-minute final seated sequence.

Perfect for a dark winter’s evening, the show begins outside in the Courtyard where visitors can enjoy drinks in our outdoor Courtyard Café & Bar. The colourful and immersive light experience then continues, illuminating the whole interior of the Church to bespoke music. A dazzling journey across the universe, exploring the cosmos which displays the first rocket launch, the creation story and the Big Bang amidst an atmospheric soundscape. Lastly, visitors can Earth as if looking back from space under a galaxy of stars.

For one night only, immerse yourself in a Silent Disco like no other. On Wednesday, 18th of February Luxmuralis will transform the space with a spellbinding constellation of ever-looping stars. In this unique experience, DJs will spin across three separate channels on your wireless headphones, offering everything from classics to today’s chart-toppers. The crypt comes alive in an entirely new way – stars shifting, flowing, and orbiting around you as you dance, wrapped in light.

Space is produced by artist and renowned sculptor Peter Walker, Artistic Director at Luxmuralis. His work reflects a broad and innovative approach to storytelling through art. Credited for creating ‘the stained-glass windows of our time’, Luxmuralis brings stories to life through an understanding of art and historical context of such institutions to paint the architecture with light, bringing together the contemporary and the ancient.

Luxmuralis Artistic Director Peter Walker says: the vision is “bringing to life the stories and concepts of our time in a way that stained glass did generations before [and] it is wonderful to play a part in the contemporary life of St Martin’s, bringing this new artform and adding it to these centuries of artistic and cultural history.”
