On Sunday 7th May, St Paul’s will host an Evensong in Thanksgiving for the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III. The special service will include bible readings selected to mark this national occasion and music by the Choir of St Paul’s, including celebratory works by Hubert Parry and George Frideric Handel.

As Patron of the Friends of St Paul’s, Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Gloucester will be attending the service. The Lord Mayor, members of the Common Council and Aldermen, as well as representatives of London faith communities will also be joining the Duchess at the Evensong.

The service will begin at 3:00pm on Sunday and all are welcome to attend.

Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral, the Very Revd Andrew Tremlett, commented:

“As St Paul’s has done for centuries, this weekend we will celebrate the coronation of the new monarch, His Majesty King Charles III, at our Choral Evensong.

“We welcome the new King’s commitment to his faith and Christian principles of respect, kindness and generosity. This special service will bring together people across London from different communities, faiths and backgrounds, and I look forward to joining those there in prayer and song.”
