Local businesses put in a winning performance at L&Q Living’s charity football tournament, raising over £4,000 for a team supporting residents with mental health needs.
Held at Harris Academy in Chobham, the annual event saw 10 teams take to the pitch for a day of fundraising and friendly competition in support of Mind Matters FC.
The tournament featured a strong turnout of long-standing corporate partners alongside a wave of new teams, highlighting the event’s growing popularity and success. Teams competing this year included representatives from Bellrock Advisory, Calfordseaden, Frankham, Lovell Partnerships, Higgins, Hunters, Martin Arnold, Silver Strikers, and Sinden Construction.
Chartered surveyor and construction consultant firm Martin Arnold took the trophy again this year, with developer Higgins securing a well-fought second place. The funds raised will directly benefit Mind Matters FC, covering essential operational costs including pitch hire, new equipment, league registration, kits and travel. Away from the pitch, the team act as a catalyst for long-term recovery and personal growth, helping players reach major milestones like moving into independent living and securing paid employment.
