Taste of London returns to East London’s Tobacco Dock for the city’s festive season

From 21 – 24 November, Taste of London will return to East London’s Tobacco Dock to ring in the beginning of the city’s festive season, and celebrate the best food and drink from London’s internationally renowned culinary scene.

For four days, the people and places that have propelled London’s restaurant scene into the global limelight will take part in a series of exclusive festive dining events and drinks experiences and cook up never-before-seen dishes.

FOOD: New additions include Soho favourite Berenjak, Thai barbecue masters Smoking Goat, Lewis Hamilton-backed Neat Burger with its plant-based burgers, and the hotly anticipated Bubala, which opened in September and features vegetarian Middle Eastern food from ex Berber & Q and Barbary chefs. Also joining the line-up are Taiwanese legends BAO and XU and finally Master Wei, bringing a taste of Shanxi cuisine with its legendary noodles.

An unmissable culinary experience from Action Against Hunger will run across the festival, with a fresh line-up of top chefs creating exclusive variations on classic dishes. Plus, Taste of London’s legendary Fire Pit returns, complete with fire-breathing pyrotechnic displays and top chefs including Great British Menu winners Elliot Cunningham and James Cochran along with Selin Kiazim, who will be firing up their twists on Christmas classics.

Guests can also look forward to exclusive ‘Daily Specials’, with appearances from restaurant of the moment, Tou. There is no need for groups to split based on food preferences either, as for the first time every restaurant will offer a vegetarian dish on their menu.

More than 120 artisan producers will line the Grade 1 listed former warehouse, transforming it into a winter wonderland with dozens of foodie workshops on offer, including alcoholic jam making and interactive paella-cooking tutorials.

EXPERIENCES: Following its launch last year, the Diner’s Club VIP Lounge returns, offering guests the chance to take their Taste of London experience up a notch with exclusive lounge access, special entertainment and exclusive food offerings.
For the first time, Taste of London will debut The Campfire: an Instagram haven complete with roaring fire pits, marshmallow toasting, cosy blankets and snow showers.

Returning to the festival will be River Cottage’s Steven Lamb, tucked away in a festive grotto making the ultimate Christmas feast. Seasonal Secrets with Steven Lamb will feature some extra special pigs in blankets as well as workshops on creating festive dishes with a twist, including Festive Labneh and Boozy Pork Liver Pate.

On Thursday evening, special friends of Taste of London including Atelier Salmon, Josh Katz and Simon ‘The Butch’ Taylor will create the Feast in the Forest: an exclusive banquet in a winter forest styled vault, with flowing champagne on arrival and winter punch cocktails. With only 30 spaces, tickets are limited and guests are advised to book fast.

DRINKS: Laurent-Perrier Champagne will be keeping guests suitably refreshed in their Après Ski Club House complete with pink ‘bubble’ hats, while a few doors down, Tanqueray No.TEN will be debuting their sensory experience with a stylish twist, and Ketel One returns with its popular Kitchen Disco. Chang, Thailand’s favourite beer, will be offering an insight into Thai culture alongside Islington cocktail bar, Laki Kane, who will be mixing unique Chang infused cocktails. For the perfect digestif, guests can make their way to Kuka Coffee’s secret Espresso Martini bar. Those who sip there long enough will see it transform from bar to rave in a cave…

Further information on restaurant partners and exclusives will be revealed in due course, and tickets will be available to purchase from 9am on 27/09/2019 athttps://london.tastefestivals.com. A limited number of early ticket holders will receive a free glass of champagne on arrival.
