This month Look Mate London and the prestigious Draycott Hotel by Mantis launch an exciting and ambitious new initiative – Socks for Socks. The ongoing scheme, in support of leading homeless charity Glass Door, will see Look Mate donating one pair of extra thick socks specially developed for greater warmth to the charity, with every pair of their new luxury Perle Cotton socks purchased at The Draycott Hotel.
Designed with five star luxury in mind applying meticulous craftsmanship by second generation sock makers in Armenia, the new sock collection is made from the finest pearle cotton which has been twisted and mercerised to enhance fit and comfort to give a silky, pearly shine. The socks will be available to buy in 5 different colours and in two sizes. The on trend colours have been chosen specifically to mirror the rich and luxurious interior of The Draycott Hotel.
As each guest prepares to check out, they will find a pair of socks left in their room with information about the initiative. Should they wish to keep the socks, guests can quickly and easily add them to their bill and they will be charged £15 on check out from the hotel. Socks colours will be rotated on a weekly basis and guests can select additional colours and quantities of socks as desired.
A passionate Londoner and a philanthropist, Look Mate’s co-founder Vahan Hovhannisyan was for 10 years, The Draycott Hotel’s Company Accountant. He was able to combine his passion for numbers as well as for environmental issues and for many years led the Green agenda with the hotel wining copious awards praising their environmental action, such as the Gold Award in 2014 and 2016 and the Winner of the Considerate Marketing Initiative of the Year 2014. It was also at The Draycott Hotel that he first came up with the idea for Look Mate and he sees the scheme as an extension of his legacy.
The Draycott by Mantis is equally passionate about both local and global issues affecting our world and our society and this collaboration was a natural partnership between businesses that both hold ethics and sustainability close to their hearts.
