On Wednesday 5th of July the lastminute.com London Eye will be illuminated in blue to mark the 75th anniversary of the NHS.
Since its establishment on the 5th of July 1948, the NHS has become the cornerstone of British society providing millions of people up and down the country with free and comprehensive healthcare services.
In the capital alone, the institution handles 13,000 A&E attendances each day and delivers 300 babies. There is not a corner of the city that the NHS hasn’t touched while continually innovating and adapting to meet to needs of each generation.
To honour the commitment of NHS staff past and present, and to mark the organisation’s milestone birthday, from sunset on Wednesday until sunrise on Thursday, the lastminute.com London Eye will be lighting up the capital’s skyline blue, joining other iconic landmarks across London in celebration of the NHS.
Imran Tauqir, General Manager of the lastminute.com London Eye, said: “We are proud to be illuminating in blue and joining landmarks across London in celebrating 75 years of the NHS. We hope that this spectacular display of gratitude will honour the NHS’s remarkable contributions to the nation’s healthcare system and its unwavering dedication to saving lives.”
