Honouring Mayfair’s incredibly strong links to the Royal Family, from 6-7 May, London’s iconic neighbourhood will mark the Coronation of King Charles III with a spectacular garden party right in the heart of London – a celebratory event transforming Grosvenor Square into an enchanting garden wonderland with world class entertainment and dining.

The Fashionable Garden Party Experience

The neighbourhood’s celebratory party will be nothing short of an experience fit for royalty offering a fanciful aesthetic of a beloved garden soiree drawing inspirations from the iconic gardens of HRH King Charles’ Highgrove estate and the bountiful flora and fauna that come to life during the British summer. Delighting partygoers, the experience will integrate all the joys of nature, with whimsical details to set a charming ‘countryside picnic’ scene while nodding to the rich history of garden parties, which originated from Royal Victorian roots.

Welcoming guests as a gateway into the enchanting magic of the gardens will be a picturesque Victoriana trellised archway, graciously detailed with crown-like design. Blossoming with life with a variety of foliage and florals, the archway will act as a portal to a world of nature and wonder. Continuing the journey into the garden, an elegant bandstand coming alive with nature will be on display, drawing inspiration from the iconic Victorian bandstand in Hyde Park.

The nostalgic set-up will include 30 communal white picnic benches for over 180 people, where everyone is invited to take a seat. The picnic benches, curated by sisters Jemima and Alice Herbert, co-founders of Lay London, will see a kaleidoscope of colours and fabrics, incorporating quintessentially British joyful botanical patterns and a bounty of traditional garden florals atop such as British roses, lavender, geraniums and rosemary.

Jemima and Alice Herbert from Lay London say: “We are thrilled to be the curators of Mayfair’s Coronation Garden Party. Our vision for Grosvenor Square has been born from our love of the

whimsical, with quintessentially British, nostalgic details designed to delight.”
